50th Reunion agenda for TopHi's Class of 1964

50^th Reunion  --  September 19-20-21

FRIDAY Arrive on Friday, and you can walk the memory-packed halls of our high school days.  We’re pleased to report that at the request of Leland Barber, Carmen has arranged for tours of our old high school building as well as the current high school.  The visit is planned for 10:00 a.m. on Friday Sept. 19^th in front of the AJ Strom Gym at our HS site (now the middle school).

Social hour begins at 6:00 p.m., and Dinner will be served at 7:00 

Location: The Old Warehouse in Zillah     

(The Old Warehouse is next to Loges Park and a half block south of the main street.)

Dinner menu:  Steak tri-tip or 3oz salmon    Dinner will include: scalloped potatoes, pasta salad, rolls, green salad, green beans, dessert + glass of champagne or sparkling cider for a toast.

Mr. Bond sends his "regrets"

We invited Mr. Bond to attend the 50th.  He responded with the below note: 

Dear Carmen and Gerry:

    I appreciate your sending an invitation to me...I feel more like a member of  the class of 64 than I do my own HS class.  It would be wonderful to see everyone again....I just wish they would all look like I picture them....when they were 17-19 years old.  

     

    I truly enjoyed my years teaching at Toppenish. I pull out the old HS annuals and look at them often.

    I know the years have not been kind to me or Sandra and I'm sure not your class mates either.   

For this reason I will decline the invitation...I just don't want to see them any different than what I remember and picture in my mind.  50 years has been too long.

    Have a great reunion..my thoughts will be with you.
