About a month after graduating
I reported to the Naval Academy at Annapolis. I did fairly well at Annapolis
except for my Senior Year during which I became a good bridge player. I had
an undistinguished Navy career from 1968 to 1978 home-ported in New London and
Norfolk.
I married in 1971. We had a daughter and a son. We moved to
Appleton, WI in 1978 and I worked for a capital equipment supplier to the
paper industry until 2009. I took a nice early retirement Package in April
2009, due to my wife's failing health, and the financial incentives. She died
three months later. I am happily retired and remarried in Appleton. My
children and their families are in Appleton and suburban Chicago.
